HeliOffshore Frontline Safety Leader Award Scheme
What is the purpose of the Frontline Safety Leader Award Scheme?
Strong and effective safety leadership is essential to enabling and ensuring the safe transport of passengers offshore every day. Safety leadership can be found at every level and within every team inside an organisation. Recognising strong safety leadership behaviours and action is key to maintaining a healthy and sustainable safety culture. The HeliOffshore Frontline Safety Leader Award scheme is intended to recognise and reward effective safety leadership occurring in the frontline of our industry, and to share learning from frontline safety leaders across our membership.
Who can be nominated for the Frontline Safety Leader Award?
The scheme is open to individuals from HeliOffshore member companies. Individuals should be nominated through their organisation’s HeliOffshore lead via this online form. Nominated individuals may work in any frontline area of the member organisation. The main criteria for the award will be ‘...for intervening or taking action to avert an accident or serious incident, or significantly reducing consequences related to an adverse event...’
What happens if someone is successful in achieving the award?
HeliOffshore would expect successful safety leaders to commit to:
sharing a summary of the reason they were nominated for the award (safety learnings) with HeliOffshore members.
participating in communications to help encourage further individuals’ involvement in the HeliOffshore Frontline Safety Leader Award.
HeliOffshore would also strongly encourage member organisations to communicate the award given to the individual within their company and make it clear why safety leadership is important to their organisation and the wider industry.
