HeliOffshore Publishes Contracting Principles for the Offshore Aviation Industry
Today, HeliOffshore is pleased to publish Contracting Principles for the Offshore Aviation Industry.
In a joint effort to promote safer offshore aviation operations, HeliOffshore has worked in partnership with Offshore Energies UK (‘OEUK’) to develop a set of Contracting Principles for aviation operators and energy customers. The principles were developed based on existing work started by OEUK to describe what good procurement practice and service delivery looks like in the energy industry supply chain.
HeliOffshore’s Contracting Principles for Offshore Aviation are designed to support sustainable business practices across the aviation supply chain. By encouraging greater alignment between commercial terms and long-term safety goals for the sector, the Contracting Principles aim to enable the sector to invest confidently in its people, products, and services – and ultimately drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Tim Rolfe, Chief Executive Officer of HeliOffshore, commented: "This is a vital example of what can be achieved when the aviation and energy sectors come together with a shared sense of purpose. By embedding safety into the heart of commercial decision-making, we’re helping ensure the long-term viability of offshore aviation. Partnerships offer unlimited possibilities which are unavailable through purely cost-based procurement practices. Above all, this collaboration supports our collective mission of ensuring no lives are lost in offshore operations.”
Graham Skinner, Health and Safety Manager, OEUK, added: “The work our members initiated in 2017 to improve supply chain contracting has already had a positive influence on the way investment in safety is discussed across multiple stakeholders. The publication of these new Contracting Principles for Offshore Aviation marks a significant step forward. We are confident they can deliver real benefits to frontline workers by supporting a stronger, more proactive safety culture.”
